funny lady

Alison Silverman is a writer for The Colbert Report and used to write for The Daily Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. I didn’t know who she was until ten minutes ago, when I read her acceptance speech for a Muse Award from New York Women in Film & Television. It is hilarious and now I love her.

Read it here.

Woah. This may be the single most important and historic speech in the recent history of woman kind. And it only has two comments?!

There is a large part of me (namely my lower half) that wants to drop everything, drive out to New York, find her, and beg her to be my mentor, or at the very least – my facebook friend.

Though perhaps I should shower first.
